After vacationing with the family, I went down with COVID for a little over a week. It was a very challenging week. I continued to work, did my best to stay consistent with the family (while wearing a mask), got little rest, and was not able to work out. Before testing positive, I attempted a five minute cycling class and watched the count down very closely - it was harder than my first ride. Somewhere in this timeframe, Marisol also got COVID but the kids didn't. It was a hard, but the timing as far as me going down and then regaining my strength and her going down worked. During my down time, I took the opportunity to make some calls, send some emails, and create some accounts.
Meryl's Safe Haven finally became searchable on GuideStar which allowed us to create our profile there and other accounts like Give Lively when we're able to start fundraising.
I called and emailed the Attorney General's office to learn more about our Solicitation Certificate; multiple emails and another call last week, March 5, still no information. I left a voicemail on the phone on the gentleman who apparently is responsible for our organization.

I learned about the opportunity to apply for "Congressionally Directed Spending" for FY24; working through that application for submission on/by March 15th
Not knowing solicitation status really stalls out the opportunity to move forward. Although I have reached out multiple times to the office of Economic Development for the City of Worcester via email (and have not received responses, yet), it feels like it would be a waste of time to go and seek information about potential properties without being able to leverage any assets.
In the meantime, I continue to remind myself that this isn't a "project"; it isn't something that needs to happen tomorrow or not at all. It takes time to build a business. It takes time to ensure sustainability and all that we have learned, seen, and have gone through will be worth it in the end.
Onward.
Rome wasn't built overnight.
