Rosalhiry Somersall

Case Manager

Although a native of Worcester, MA, Rosalhiry feels she understands the challenges that can come with transitions; her mother migrated to the U.S. in search of an opportunity to build a better future for herself and her family. Having experienced many trials and tribulations including being raised by a single mother, being a survivor of domestic violence, and experiencing homelessness she feels she felt her calling when she decided to pursue a degree in Human Services.

From a young age, Rosalhiry manifested empathy and compassion. During her time attending University Park Campus School, Rosalhiry took it upon herself to start an LGBTQ+ club in honor of her classmate who didn’t have a place where he could be himself outside of school. Later in high school, she would join the school’s community outreach club where she engaged with elders in nursing homes, reading to elementary school children, collecting donations for the homeless, and baking birthday cakes and making birthday cards for the patients at Jeremiah’s Inn.

Her first-hand experiences and community interactions drive her to want to be the change she would like to see in the world.
