Dr. Tasia Cerezo

Co-Founder & CEO

Originally from Miami, FL., Dr. Tasia Cerezo transitioned to Massachusetts to serve as an AmeriCorp member. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology, master’s degree in education and a Doctorate degree in Higher Education Leadership.

As an AmeriCorps member, Tasia served at a women’s institution where she developed and implemented a service-learning course that incorporated hands-on experience in New Orleans for students to aid in the rebuilding of the city and the surrounding communities, shortly after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. With a passion for working with young people of disadvntaged backgrounds, Dr. Cerezo has navigated roles in higher education and the nonprofit sector.

Prior to her transition to higher education, she worked in the non-profit sector in various roles with shelter providing organizations, grant funding organizations, and workforce development organizations with a primary focus on youth.

Committed to bridging her experiences in the nonprofit sector and education, she has consistently sought roles that break down barriers between institutions of higher education and the communities in which they reside - Meryl's Safe Haven is no different. As a co-founder, Dr. Cerezo intends to use her experiences to provide holistic support to housing insecure families to end the cycle of poverty.

Published author and researcher, Tasia is one of Pulse Magazine's 2024 People to Watch and a 2024-2025 Marquis Who's Who.
